Hero Steel slams two halves of your word together in brushed metal, throws a shockwave and sparks off the impact, then rakes a hard specular sweep across the finished face.
The word is drawn twice, clipped to inset(0 50% 0 0) and inset(0 0 0 50%), so the two halves slide in on hs-slamL and hs-slamR and meet dead centre. The metal is an eight-stop hs-steel gradient — the banding is the material — rather than an feSpecularLighting pass. The sweep is a white bar translating through hs-sweep, which the compositor can promote to its own layer; an animated gradient could not be.
It fades out by 40% of the cycle on purpose. A looping animation is settled at an arbitrary point of its loop for a still export, and a ring still expanding at that moment would draw a circle straight through the finished word.
