What Matrix Rain is good for

How this animation is built

The columns scroll on mx-scroll and mx-fall through a mask clipped to the frame, so characters appear to fall behind and through the word rather than over the top of it. mx-pop locks each letter as the rain reaches it, and a feGaussianBlur/feMerge pair gives the trailing characters their glow.

Tips for Matrix Rain

Matrix Rain questions

Does the rain keep going after the word appears?

Yes. The reveal completes but the columns keep falling, so the frame never goes static — useful if you are holding on the title.
