A static wordmark works fine on a business card, but the moment it needs to open a video, load a page, or hold attention on a social feed, motion does something a still logo can't: it gives people a reason to keep watching for the next half-second. You don't need an animator or a copy of After Effects to get there — a text-based logo is one of the easiest things to animate well, because the shapes are already defined for you by the letterforms.
The right style depends on where the logo will live. A YouTube intro can afford a punchier, longer entrance because viewers expect a few seconds of branding. A website header or app loading screen needs something that loops cleanly and doesn't overstay its welcome. A social post needs to read in the first frame, since autoplay previews are silent and short. Pick the destination first — it narrows the style choice a lot.
Draw-on styles trace the letterforms like they're being written, then fill in — the most "logo reveal" feeling of the set, and a good default for an intro. Colour-fill styles pop each letter's fill in on its own beat, which reads as playful and works well for a friendlier brand. Pop and reveal styles use scale, fade and wipes instead of tracing outlines, so they work with any artwork, including an uploaded PNG or JPG logo, not just vector text. If the logo needs to loop forever on a loading screen, a dedicated loader style is built for exactly that — it declares an exact loop length so the export doesn't stutter where it repeats.
Type your brand name, optionally add a mark — a monogram built from your initials, or one of the built-in icons grouped by industry, or your own uploaded SVG — and set exact hex values for text, mark and background colour so the export matches your brand rather than approximating it. Because everything runs in the browser, you can preview every combination instantly before committing to an export.
There's no single right format — pick the one your destination actually supports, and keep the SVG around as a source you can re-export later if your needs change.
